RENOVATION OF RESIDENTAL BLOCK ON 7 PATRIARCH EVTIMIY STREET IN DIMITROVGRAD
Dimitrovgrad Municipality begins reconstruction of another residential block in the city under the project "Multi-family residential building, located in the city of Dimitrovgrad, 7 Patriarch Evtimiy Street", announced the project manager, Eng. Klavdiya Toncheva, at a press conference today. The press conference was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of Dimitrovgrad Municipality Mr Yasho Minkov, and Mr Nikolay Mindalov - a representative of the contractor and the project team.
The project is being implemented under the Procedure for the selection of project proposals for "Support for sustainable energy renovation of multi-family residential buildings, including addressing energy poverty" with the financial support of the Regional Development Programme 2021-2027, co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund or the Just Transition Fund. The Managing Authority of the Programme is the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, the lead partner is the Municipality of Dimitrovgrad, and the end user is the Owners' Association "PRIATELI", 7 Patriarh Evtimiy St., Dimitrovgrad." The total cost of the project is 2,672,415.42 BGN (1,366,384.31 EUR), as 100% grant aid from the Regional Development Program, of which European Union funding is 2,271,553.11 BGN (1,161,426.66 EUR) and national co-financing is 400,862.31 BGN (204,957.65 EUR). The implementation period is until 07.04.2027. The goal of the project is that after implementing energy saving measures, the multi-family residential building will achieve energy consumption class "B" or higher. The object is a multi-family residential building with 8 above-ground residential floors and one semi-underground floor. The goal of the project is to achieve the following factors: reducing greenhouse gas emissions in small towns in the regions; reducing energy poverty and vulnerable energy consumers; improving the operational characteristics to extend the life cycle of the building; achieving the goals set in the Integrated Energy and Climate Plan of Bulgaria for the period 2021-2030, and contributing to achieving the goals of the Long-term National Strategy for Supporting the Renovation of the National Building Stock of Residential and Non-Residential Buildings by 2050.
A symbolic starting ceremony was held in front of the building in the presence of residents and the media. Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Dimitrovgrad Mr Yasho Minkov emphasized that thanks to the activity of the owners, it is possible the apartment block to improve its energy efficiency, which in turn will affect the quality of life of its residents. The contractor company assured that they will try to cope with the implementation of the project before the deadline. The manager of the Association of Owners Mrs Ganka Georgieva thanked the municipality for the support and her neighbors, too. The renovation project will benefit all citizens living there.
