The calendar of the Municipality of Dimitrovgrad for 2026/2027 was presented today in the summer garden of the Historical Museum - Dimitrovgrad in the presence of the Mayor of the Municipality Mr Ivo Dimov, the Director of the Museum Ms Antoaneta Stancheva, delegations from the twin cities, citizens and guests of Dimitrovgrad. It is designed as a door in time and a historical journey far away in the past. Among the official guests were the Mayor of Uzunkopru, Republic of Turkey – Mr Ediz Martin, the Mayor of Tsaribrod – Dr Vladica Dimitrov, as well as the Deputy Mayor of the City of Kutina, Republic of Croatia – Ms Ivana Grdich.

The new edition of the traditional calendar takes the audience far beyond the familiar image of Dimitrovgrad. Its pages present some of the most interesting finds from the collection of the Archaeology Department of the Historical Museum - Dimitrovgrad, which reveal the rich and millennial history of the region. The authors of the project are the artist Stefan Churchuliev, the photographer Nikolay Pandev and the archaeologist Neli Krasteva-Avramova. A special annotation has been prepared for each presented object, which offers a brief historical reference and a curious fact related to the exhibit. Thus, the calendar becomes a kind of a guide book through the time and cultural heritage of the region. It is published both in Bulgarian and in English. The ambition of its authors is to present the thousand-year history of the region briefly, clearly and in the most accessible way. Traditionally, the citizens and guests of the city who attended the official presentation had the opportunity to be the first to see the new vision of the calendar and to receive a copy of it.
