THE MOST RECYCLING CLASS IN DIMITROVGRAD IS FROM ALEKO KONSTANTINOV PRIMARY SCHOOL
A total of over 3.6 tons of waste from plastic bottles and aluminum cans were collected by students from 10 schools in the municipality of Dimitrovgrad. The children from grade 3a at Aleko Konstantinov Primary School won the most recycling class prize in the "Ecoclass 2025" campaign. They collected 138 kg of plastic bottles and aluminum cans. Totally 10 schools participated in the competition and 3.6 tons of waste were collected, which will be recycled into new packaging, clothing, furniture or household goods. Aleko Konstantinov Primary School was among the best performing schools in the initiative with a total of over 1,500 kg.
“The initiative that we are doing together with ECOPACK is aimed at all children, their parents and teachers who so enthusiastically joined. It is important to learn to collect separately. It depends on us what kind of environment we will live in and how clean it will be around us. Collecting separately should be continued,” said the mayor Mr Ivo Dimov, who personally awarded the winners.
The winners received:
- Vouchers for an educational platform;
- Gifts;
- Cleaning products;
The children were visited by the influencer Boyan Todorov, also known as @redboybg, who held a one-hour fan meeting with the winning class.
The campaign is aimed at schools to inform and motivate students and their families to collect plastic bottles and aluminum cans separately for recycling. It helps protecting the environment and the cleanliness of nature and the city in which they live. The organizer is ECOPACK company Ltd Bulgaria. It is held in partnership with the leading online education platform in Bulgaria and the Unilever & Co.
