The history of Elementary School "St. St. Cyril and Methodius” Dimitrovgrad origins from the distant 1868. In 1968 it moved to its current three-storey building, which is located in the center of residential district Chernokonevo. In 1969, by Decree of the National Assembly the school was awarded with medal "Cyril and Methodius" I level in honor of centennial anniversary of excellence in teaching and labor.

In 2012 in the school was implemented a program for energy efficiency - replaced are the windows, renovated is the building, replaced is the lighting, repaired is the old installation of central heating. Now the rooms are spacious and comfortable and are not missing even the most modern information and communication tools. The spacious school yard with parking space is with recreational areas, playgrounds for volleyball, football, basketball and running track.

With conscious ambition and pride teachers and students of the Elementary School "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" - one of the oldest schools in the territory of the Municipality of Dimitrovgrad, already 145 years is preserving and protecting the Cyril and Methodius flame, accompanying the path of the Bulgarian people to science, cultural progress and a bright future. Former and current students, teachers, parents and supporters, more than a century, prove that to be part of the Elementary School "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" is a matter of prestige, vocation and guarantee for prosperity.
