Екипът на доц. Красимир Лещаков преподавател в Софийския университет "Св. Климент Охредски" направи изключителна находка на златни монети от времето на византийския император Василий ІІ Българоубиец.Те са изключително запазени и всяка от тях тежи по четири грама, монетите са в отлично състояние и това позволява да се види изображението и от двата края на монетите.На лицевата страна е изобразен императорът заедно със сина си, а на гърба е лика на Исус Христос. Монетите са открити  край с. Ябълково Община Димитровград, кадето се смята че се намира най старото селище на Европа основано преди 8 хил години.
