INSTALLATION OF GAS BOILERS FOR HOUSEHOLDS BEGINS UNDER THE PROJECT
From July 17, 2023 the implementation and replacement of the old solid fuel heating devices with gas boilers, under the project "Improving the quality of atmospheric air in Dimitrovgrad municipality by replacing solid fuel heating devices with alternative forms of heating", begins. Details about the project became clear at a meeting, held earlier today, between the mayor Mr Ivo Dimov, the project manager Mrs Mariyana Hristova and representatives of the contractor company.
From July 10 (Monday), a representative of the company, coordinating the process, will contact people by phone to arrange a convenient day and time for the installation. After installing the gas boilers, people involved in the project must hand over their old solid fuel stoves to another company, authorized to carry out this activity.
The project is the largest currently implemented by the municipality of Dimitrovgrad - for nearly BGN 12 million and is being financed under the Operational Program Environment 2014-2020. Initially, the municipality secured funding worth BGN 7,555,396.72 and later in 2022 - an additional BGN 4,405,010.94 for another 1070 households. Seven municipalities in the country have been approved to implement similar projects for improving air quality.
The overall goal of the project is to reduce the emissions of FDP10 from domestic heating as one of the main sources of air pollution. The specific aim of the project is the solid fuel heating devices of households to be replaced with alternative ones.
