ENERGY RENOVATION OF AN ADMINISTRATIVE BUILDING IN DIMITROVGRAD
The activities under the project "Sustainable energy renovation of an administrative building at 7 St. Kliment Ohridski Street, Dimitrovgrad" have started. They will increase the energy efficiency of the building. The project is being implemented under the Operational Program National Recovery and Sustainability Plan, Priority Axes Low Carbon Economy under the procedure Support for Sustainable Energy Renovation of Public Buildings for Administrative Services, Culture and Sports. The project implementation period is June 30, 2026. The total budget for the project is 2,191,151.39 BGN with VAT, of which European funding 2,097,040.34 BGN with VAT and co-financing from the budget of the Dimitrovgrad Municipality 94,111.05 BGN with VAT. The object of intervention is an administrative building, put into operation in 1969. The implementation of the project will improve the energy performance of the administrative building, through sustainable integrated high-efficiency energy measures, achieving energy consumption class "A". The energy consumption costs will be reduced, which will also lead to savings of public resources and over 30% savings of primary energy. A heating system and facilities for the production of electricity from renewable sources for own consumption will be built. The successful implementation of the activities will significantly improve the operational characteristics of the building and will contribute to extending its life cycle. The activities set out in the project are in line with achieving the goals proposed by the European Commission to reduce carbon emissions by at least 55% by 2030, greenhouse gas emissions from buildings by 60%, energy consumption by 14% and heating and cooling costs by 18%. These details were cleared by the project manager Eng. Krasimira Boneva at a press conference today.
The opening press conference was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of Dimitrovgrad Municipality Mr Yasho Minkov, the manager of the contractor company "Aqua Construct Group" EOOD Mr Atanas Atanasov and Mr Yanko Velev, a member of the project team.
We are soon starting the implementation of other projects under integrated territorial investments, where similar measures will be implemented in the reconstruction of a home for the elderly, the local municipal hospital, the kindergarten "Lilia" and many others. Such solutions guarantee the provision of heating and cooling for the buildings and at the same time free up serious financial resources to address other problems in the municipality. These priorities were emphasized by the deputy mayor for "European Programs and International Cooperation" Mr Yasho Minkov.
