National Holiday Celebrations in Dimitrovgrad ‘2025
Hundreds of citizens visited the central city square to celebrate the Liberation Day. The official celebrations of the 3rd March began with a solemn ceremony of raising the national flag of Bulgaria. Among the officials were: the Mayor of the municipality of Dimitrovgrad Mr Ivo Dimov, the member of the National Assembly Mr Ivan Minev, the Regional Governor Mrs Stefka Zdravkova, the Chairperson of the Municipal Council Mrs Gergana Krasteva, municipal councilors, mayors of the small settlements and many citizens who came to pay tribute to those who died heroically for the freedom of Bulgaria. The celebration began with a solemn acceptance of the military formation by the deputy commander of Haskovo Military Formation 52740 - Major Georgi Paskov. The flag was raised to the sounds of the anthem performed by the Brass Band Orchestra. Dimitrovgrad celebrated 147 years of Free Bulgaria with military honors and a solemn ceremony.
The greeting address of the Mayor: "The liberation of Bulgaria made it possible for our country to return to the great family of Europe. Where we have been for centuries, thanks to our strong state, Bulgarian spirituality and culture. That is why today we pay well-deserved tribute to the heroes who gave their lives for freedom and the independence of Bulgaria. A deep bow to our heroes!" said Dimov in his welcoming speech to the citizens.
The regional governor, Mrs Zdravkova, and the chairperson of the municipal council, Mrs Krasteva, also gave their congratulatory words.
The program continued with a solemn concert on Poetry Square with the participation of the graduates of the schools of the Children and Youth Center Dimitrovgrad. Bulgarian folk rhythms, patriotic poems and thunderous choirs marked the festive day in Dimitrovgrad
