WORKING MEETING WITH THE SCHOOLS’ MANAGEMENT FOR THE START OF THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR
Mr. Ivo Dimov held a working meeting with representatives of the school management and leading cultural institutes on the territory of the municipality of Dimitrovgrad for their readiness for the beginning of the new school year in the conditions of pandemic. Mayor insisted for short, with a limited number of people, outdoor celebrations for the first day of school.
The school directors assured that they are ready to welcome the new school year, having provided disinfection materials, masks and a flexible organization of the staff. Most pedagogical and non-pedagogical staff have been vaccinated.
At the beginning of August, the Municipality of Dimitrovgrad purchased rapid antigen tests against COVID-19 for all employees in the education system (schools and kindergartens).
The meeting, which took place in the summer garden of the city library, was attended by the management of all schools in the municipality, as well as the new directors of the city library, the children center and the Historical Museum. The meeting was also attended by experts from the relevant municipal department for education, projects and humanitarian activities – Ms. Diana Doncheva and Ms. Antoaneta Sharkova.
The guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Science recommend that students in the 1st to the 4th grade will not wear masks during class lessons, also the pre-school children in schools. Classrooms need to be ventilated at least twice an hour for at least one minute. Masks will not be mandatory for teachers during class at a physical distance of at least 1.5 m. If there are cases of sick or quarantined students, the teachers should switch e-learning for an individual student or class. First of all, in the general case, distance learning classes are introduced for high school students, with the exception of the 12th grade. If the pandemic situation gets worse, the other classes shall be also involved in the e-learning system. They recommend that, the pupils from 1st to 4th grade to be the last included.
