A SPECTACULAR LIGHT SHOW, HOLIDAY FIREWORKS AND A FESTIVE CONCERT FOR THE 78TH ANNIVERSARY OF DIMITROVGRAD
Yesterday Dimitrovgrad celebrated 78 years since its creation with a spectacular show program and festive fireworks. The square was filled with citizens and guests, who shared the celebration of the city. The program began with the performances of Brass Band Dimitrovgrad. The national flag of the Republic of Bulgaria was solemnly raised with the participation of the military unit 52740 Haskovo. In front of the citizens, Mayor Mr Ivo Dimov, the chairperson of the Town Council Mrs Krasteva, the guests from Tsaribrod, Serbia and Kutina, Croatia, addressed the people in the central square for the 78th city anniversary. Official guests were also the member of the National Assembly Mr Ivan Minev and the Haskovo Region Governor Dr Stefka Zdravkova. They also addressed the audience with warm words dedicated to the city holiday. Before the festive ceremony, at the solemn session of the Town Council Dimitrovgrad, the prize ‘Honorary Citizen’ was given to Kerka and Stoycho Stoyanovi thanks to their donation to the Children’s Department of the municipal hospital. Specially for the audience, the popular artist Lyubo Kirov performed his musical show. The first musical greeting was made by the talented local student Nadezhda-Sofiya. The performance was complemented by an impressive pyrotechnic show, specially prepared for Dimitrovgrad's anniversary.
