THE RECONSTRUCTED PARK ‘MARITSA’ WAS OFFICIALLY OPENED
With a ribbon cutting ceremony, the Mayor of Dimitrovgrad Municipality, Mr Ivo Dimov, and the project manager, Eng. Klavdia Toncheva, officially opened the renovated "Maritsa" park today. The event was attended by municipal councilors and citizens. The activities in the park were carried out under a project with a total value of BGN 3,894,916.64, of which: a grant from the Operational Program "Regions in Growth" in the amount of BGN 1,786,791.26 and BGN 2,108,125.38 own participation.
At a press conference earlier, the mayor and the project manager reported on the activities carried out on the project. "Many interventions have been carried out in the park, the recreation areas and the alleys by replacing asphalt pavement and new curbs. The entrance area has been renovated with new flooring and new park elements. New benches and bins have been also installed. Video surveillance and lighting systems have been built in the recreation areas and playgrounds. Conditions for active recreation, sports, attractions and entertainment for children and adults are provided. For this purpose, areas have been designated in separate sections of the park by building two children's playgrounds, an adventure corner, playground for skateboards, and an outdoor fitness area. The fitness area has been completed with eight fitness equipment installed. It is built adventure corner, which is located on a sandy pavement. The facilities are made of wood. There are swings, climbing frames and rope children's equipment. The mayor of the municipality Mr Ivo Dimov thanked the team and the contractor for the work done and added that the park is one of the most favorite places for the citizens of Dimitrovgrad. As a result of its reconstruction, it significantly renewed its vision, became even more beautiful and offers more activities for sports and recreation. After the opening, guests and citizens walked in the park to see the new facilities and the final result of the project.
