A public discussion of the draft budget of the Municipality of Dimitrovgrad for 2025 was held this evening in the Groseto conference hall. It was presented by Mayor Mr Ivo Dimov and Chief Budget Expert Ms Galya Delcheva. The draft budget has been developed in such a way as to guarantee the financial security and stability of all budget maintenance structures, through compliance with financial discipline, providing funds in all spheres of public life – education, healthcare, social activities and services, public works, culture, sports and others. The draft budget foresees both funds for the necessary expenses, including those already incurred for the first seven months, as well as sufficient reserves to minimize the risks in the event of a possible deterioration of the socio-economic and political conditions. Preserving the budgetary sustainability of the Municipality is a primary task, and it is of particular importance that financial management and control be carried out under enhanced financial discipline, by not undertaking commitments for expenses that are not financially secured.

The draft budget of the Municipality of Dimitrovgrad for 2025 is BGN 85,069,538 in terms of revenue and expenditure and is a 1.29% increase compared to the initial budget for 2024. The most funds from the budget for this year are for Education - BGN 34,903,923; for health care and social activities – BGN 9,954,231; for health – BGN 1,485,808. With the funds provided in the investment program, it is planned to carry out street repairs and improvements both in the urban environment and in neighborhoods and small settlements. The total amount of the capital programme of the municipality is BGN 15,912,680 – BGN 9,254,558 budget costs and BGN 6,658,122 costs, funded by EU projects. In 2025, the implementation of projects with funds from the European Union and other international programs will continue. In the investment plans are included the following objects: some parking lots, main streets, and kindergartens’ yards. Citizens actively participated in the discussions in the hall with suggestions and questions. The draft budget for 2025 is to be debated and voted during a Municipal Council meeting.
