CELEBRATION OF THE INDEPENDENCE DAY IN DIMITROVGRAD MUNICIPALITY
On September 22, 2022, at 10.00 o’clock, the 114th anniversary of the declaration of Bulgaria's Independence will be solemnly celebrated near to the Monument of Captain Petko Voevoda in Dimitrovgrad. The official program will begin by performance of the local brass band. After that, the audience will be able to see the special documentary program on the proclamation of the Independence of Bulgaria. With wreaths and flowers in front of the monument, the citizens and guests of Dimitrovgrad will pay tribute to the heroes of the National Independence.
The same day later, at 17.00 h, on the town square in Merichleri, the solemn celebration of the Independence of Bulgaria and 39 years since the declaration of Merichleri as a town will be celebrated. The program will begin with the laying of wreaths and flowers in front of the monument in the center in front of the administration’s building. After that, the agenda continues with a festive program, including municipal folklore groups and the "Horizon" orchestra. The culmination of the celebration, the festive fireworks will begin at 20.00 h.
