PROGRAM ON THE OCCASION OF JUNE 2ND - BOTEV’S DAY AND THOSE WHO DIED FOR THE FREEDOM OF BULGARIA
On June 2, 2023, at 11.45, in front of the bust-monument of Hristo Botev, a city-wide tribute will begin in memory of Hristo Botev and those who died for the freedom and independence of Bulgaria. The program includes a guard of honor in front of the monument, performances by City Wind Orchestra and a speech about the revolutionary poet and the heroes of the national rebellions, which will be presented by Ivan Petrov Nechev, a student in the 11th grade of "Dr. Ivan Bogorov" High Language School Dimitrovgrad and a winner in the regional competition in historical studies. Minutes before the sirens go off, wreaths and flowers will be presented by citizens and officials.
