MUNICIPALITY OF DIMITROVGRAD ATTRACTED OVER 4.4 MILLION EURO FOR ENERGY RENEWAL OF FIVE PUBLIC BUILDINGS
The Municipality of Dimitrovgrad has won funding to improve the energy efficiency of key public infrastructure – four educational buildings and the municipal administration building. The total value of the investment is 4,415,926.32 euro.
Under the project “Improving the Energy Efficiency of Public Buildings in the Educational Infrastructure, the City of Dimitrovgrad”, energy efficiency measures will be implemented in four kindergarten and nursery buildings in the city, worth 3,050,105.92 euro. After the implementation of the measures under the project, a significant reduction in the consumption of primary non-renewable energy of the buildings is expected to be reached. The project will also lead to a significant environmental effect by reducing carbon emissions. It is financed under the Regional Development Programme 2021–2027, Priority Axis “Just Transition”, under the procedure “Pilot Initiatives for Energy Communities and Improving the Energy Efficiency of Public Buildings” – Component 2.
The second approved project is “Improving the Energy Efficiency of a Public Building, Located in the Town of Dimitrovgrad, 15 G. S. Rakovski Blvd.”, worth 1,365,820.40 euro. It is for a complete energy renovation of the municipal administration building, including monocrystalline photovoltaic panels, an inverter, a battery and a supporting structure. A metal constuction will be built for the system, mentioned above. Its location is expected to be located over the municipality’s parking lot, on which solar & photovoltaic panels will be mounted. After the investment implementation, it is expected that the consumption of primary non-renewable energy, as well as the greenhouse gas emissions, will be reduced.
The implementation of these significant investment projects provides a modern, comfortable and energy-efficient environment for children and employees. The operating costs of the buildings will be reduced. In parallel, the share of renewable energy used will increase. The expected overall outcomes are the significant contribution to environmental protection and the sustainable development of the Municipality of Dimitrovgrad.
