NEW EQUIPMENT FOR MUNICIPAL HOSPITAL DIMITROVGRAD
The Committee for observation of the Cooperation Program INTERREG V-A "Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020" approved additional activities and budget under the project "Intelligent Medicine". The additional budget for the municipality of Dimitrovgrad amounts to € 473,110. It is envisaged to be continued providing health care to people from the small settlements in the next 12 months. The following equipment will be purchased for the needs of the local municipal hospital:
- Parno-vacuum sterilizer;
- Hospital laboratory equipment system;
- 50 mechanical hospital beds;
The municipal management decided to apply for funding for new hospital equipment for the municipal hospital to improve health care conditions. Among the urgent needs of the health institution are: the replacement of obsolete devices in the hospital laboratory; currently used autoclave - with extremely high consumption of electricity and the old hospital beds, not changed in the last 20 years.
Dimitrovgrad Municipality, in partnership with the Institute of Technology of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace and the Municipality of Paranesti - Greece developed the project in 2016.
After signing a contract for financing on 05.09.2017, under the same project were purchased:
- X-ray machine for the needs of Municipal Hospital for Active Treatment - Dimitrovgrad
- Minibus type: Medical van, equipped with: Video conferencing system ; Specialized camera with built-in lighting system; Vital signs monitor; 12-channel pc-based ECG machine; Ultrasound abdominal probe; Telemedicine stethoscope; Otoscope; Wireless multifunctional portable devices for medical diagnosis of: Blood pressure, Blood sugar, Single-channel ECG for heart rate and heart rate, Body temperature, Pulse, Saturation
In addition to the main project proposal, the Managing Authority of INTERREG V-A Cooperation Program approved another additional funding, thanks to which the following equipment will be purchased:
- Mobile digital X-ray;
- Respiratory breathing facilities;
- Patient monitoring devices of key vital parameters;
- Eye examination equipment;
- Car;
- Equipment for disinfection of hospital premises;
The main goal of the Smart Medicine project is to invest in health infrastructure that contributes to regional and local development, reducing inequalities in the health status of the local population in the cross-border region.
The total value of the project after two approvals by the Managing Authority is € 2,090,329.37. The Municipality of Dimitrovgrad is the leading partner with budget € 1,384,543.38.
The ambition of the project is to develop a community-based model of primary health care. The concept of the model consists in solutions for effective transition from institutional health care to community health care. At the end of the project, based on the experience in the field of medicine, the experts will recommend and develop proposals for improving the national legislation related to Telemedicine in Bulgaria.
