PENYO PENEV'S LOVE POETRY WAS PRESENTED ON THE POET'S BIRTHDAY
The love lyrics of Penyo Penev were presented for his birthday in the documentary exhibition "Love and Rough Tenderness". This unrevealed aspect of Penyo's works found a place in a specially designed area in the City House-Museum, where visitors can see intimate letters and poems written to his beloved women.
At the presentation of the exhibition, the museum's curator, Ms Evgeniya Emilova, shared her emotional words dedicated to the love poems of Penyo Penev: ‘An inseparable part of his work is love poetry, which complements his enthusiastic works with great tenderness, mixed with a little sadness, which gradually grows and determines the main tone of Penev's love lyrics. In the harsh post-war period, the young poet finds grounds for romance, although love for him is a quietly endured suffering’. The exhibition showed original letters and documents from the collection of the House Museum for the first time. The event is part of the program for the Days of Poetry’ 2026 in Dimitrovgrad.
