Mr. IVO DIMOV, THE MAYOR OF DIMITROVGRAD, PARTICIPATED IN THE NATIONAL WATER TRIP ALONG THE MARITSA RIVER
The Mayor of Dimitrovgrad Municipality, Mr Ivo Dimov, participated in the National Water Walk along the Maritsa River ‘2024. More than 50 participants with more than 30 boats started today from the village of Rainovo along the river Maritsa in one of the most picturesque routes and the longest section of the river with a length of 27 km.
The national water march is held annually at the beginning of summer, and this year the days of its holding are from July 5th to 7th . There are participants in the regatta from Sofia, Varna, Pleven, Haskovo, Plovdiv, as well as individual participants from all over the country. Among them is the seven-year-old Aleksandar Dimitrov from Sofia.
Organizers of the National Water Walk are the Municipality of Dimitrovgrad, Maritsa 2008 Community Center and Club for Water Tourism Haskovo.
The purpose of the event is to get acquainted with the natural attractions along the Maritsa River in the intended section, popularizing the water tourism oppotunities in the region by improving the technical and physical skills of the participants who had green activities by puttting up houses for protected species of birds, as well.
