The Mayor Mr. Ivo Dimov presented diplomas for the volunteers as a public recognition of their activities
The mayor of Dimitrovgrad Municipality Mr. Ivo Dimov thanked the volunteers who were involved in the fight against the coronavirus during the state of emergency with a special diploma for each of them. "19 people from different spheres and professions were part of the fight against the infection, helping people from the Municipality of Dimitrovgrad and the local Operational crisis headquarters. They are people from the public sector and from the private business: a paramedic, a teacher, a dancer, psychologists working in the cultural field, a driver.
"During the state of emergency, our teams with the help of volunteers served food and medicine to the home of elderly and disabled people, worked with quarantined, helped organize the order of the two major Christian holidays - Palm Sunday and Easter, were part of the organization on the first day of the opening of the parks, being volunteers. Some of them were entirely devoted, risking their health and that of their families to help our society. They did it without any compensation. Thank you, everybody!”, excitedly said the mayor Mr. Dimov.
The mayor also expressed special thanks for the good joint work to the “Give a Smile” Foundation.
