THE MAYOR, MR IVO DIMOV, OPENED A RENOVATED BUILDING IN THE CENTER OF DIMITROVGRAD, POWERED BY ITS OWN ENERGY AFTER THE RENOVATION
With a special ribbon cutting ceremony, the renovated administrative building on 7 St. Kliment Ohridski Street in the center of Dimitrovgrad was officially opened. The building houses Galaxiko Dance Center, the Youth Center, the Brass Orchestra, and the Acoustic Jazz Trio. The talented children of Galaxiko sent a special dance greeting to everyone with a beautiful choreography called "This is Bulgaria". The energy efficiency activities of the building were carried out under a project for sustainable energy renovation of administrative buildings.
"I am really happy that today we are completing such an important project for the Municipality of Dimitrovgrad. This is the green future of our municipality!", said the Mayor at the opening.
He congratulated the project team for their good work. The total cost of the project is 1,120,317.90 euro (VAT included), financed through combined support - European funding 1,072,199.70 euro (VAT included) and co-financing from the municipal budget of Dimitrovgrad - 48,118.22 euro (VAT included).
The project activities for renovation include: a system for producing its own energy from renewable sources, and a photovoltaic power plant, installed on the roof of the building. The annual production of the photovoltaic installation is 25,825.11 kWh. The power of the installation is provided by 45 photovoltaic panels with a power of 450Wp/pc on the roof area. Four air-water heat pumps have been installed, which are used for heating in winter and cooling in summer. Thermal insulation has also been installed on. The old fluorescent lighting fixtures have been replaced with LED ones, with motion sensors for energy saving. The goal is to control the working time and reduce the consumption of electricity for lighting. The facility has been put into operation and the energy audit of the building has been carried out. These details were reported by the project manager Mrs Krasimira Boneva.
The opening ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of Dimitrovgrad Municipality Mr Yasho Minkov, the representative of the contractor company Mr Yanko Velev, the project team members, the local vicar Father Georgi Todev, leading the traditional ritual, and a dozen of citizens. After that, the media and guests inspected the activities carried out under the project in the building. They are eager to monitor the activities of the clubs after the repair of the building and to fill it with content.
