‘THE ATTRACTING OF VALENTIN TANEV IS A SUCCESSFUL TRANSFER FOR THE DIMITROVGRAD CULTURAL SOCIETY’, DETERMINED THE MAYOR
The Mayor of Dimitrovgrad Municipality officially introduced Mr Valentin Tanev, who was appointed at the beginning of October as the acting director of Municipal Drama Theatre Apostol Karamitev. The mayor of the municipality defined the attraction of the famous Bulgarian actor as a successful transfer for the benefit of the Dimitrovgrad cultural community. He emphasized that it was difficult to find a person like Valentin Tanev, who would take the place and did not hide his satisfaction with the fact that the famous theater actor accepted the offer of Dimitrovgrad.
At the joint press conference, Dimov shared that within this month there have been changes in Tanev’s circumstances as a director, due to participation in two foundations. According to the legislation, he must leave them, but this will take more time, and until then the administrative side of the post will be taken over by the manager of the Children and Youth Center in Dimitrovgrad, Mr Evgeni Penev. The creative processes and theatrical activity of the theater will continue to be the responsibility of Valentin Tanev.
Valentin Tanev thanked the mayor for the invitation to lead the theater in Dimitrovgrad and defined it as a challenge. He shared that he is one of the founders of the "Ikar" foundation, which raises funds for young artists, as well as the foundation established in the name of the great Prof. Krikor Azarian. "For me, theater means communication - the more visitors, the better. My creative intentions are that children enter the theater. I wish all the best puppet shows for children would pass through the Dimitrovgrad stage", said the famous theater actor and shared that there will be at least two children's shows every month. The theater lobby will be a space for workshops where to meet dolls and characters. He emphasized that the theater educates in children an attitude towards aesthetics. He shared his intentions two children's performances to be produced the new season.
Regarding the repertoire program, Valentin Tanev reported:
“Our aim is to have attractive and meaningful titles. People in Dimitrovgrad should get used to going to the theater and make it so that it is fashionable to give theater tickets as gifts. Therefore, before each performance, the audience will be greeted with musical performances. Something that is not available in Sofia theaters. There is currently an exhibition of young poster artists in the lobby of the theater and I plan to continue this tradition."
Tanev shared that the program of the theater had already been ready for the coming six months ahead, as it is typical in all European theaters. The repertory program includes titles, such as "Marriage by Announcements", "Lazaritsa", "Peculiarities of Russian Love", "The Spirit of the Poet", and many other interesting titles.
