IVO DIMOV AND THE MANAGEMENT OF NAMRB DISCUSSED THE INITIATIVE B40 BALKAN CITIES NETWORK WITH THE MAYOR OF ISTANBUL
The leadership of the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria held a meeting in Istanbul on December 15, at the invitation of the Mayor Mr Ekrem Imamoglu. The participants on the Bulgarian side were: the Chairman Mr Daniel Panov, mayor of Veliko Tarnovo; the Deputy Chairpersons – Mrs Donka Mihailova, Mr Hassan Azis, and Mr Ivo Dimov, and also the executive director of NAMRB Mrs Silvia Georgieva. In a conversation with Mr Imamoglu, the participants agreed the inclusion of Bulgarian settlements in the B 40 Initiative "Balkan Cities Network", which focuses on green transformation, smart cities, tourism and cooperation. Mr. Imamoglu has the idea the same initiative to reach 100 cities in the Balkans. NAMRB will assist in promoting among the local authorities in our country.
It was also agreed that Sofia would be the third city to host a meeting after Istanbul and Athens.
