MAYOR OF DIMITROVGRAD MR IVO DIMOV PARTICIPATES AT THE BALKAN CITIES NETWORK B40 SUMMIT
The Mayor of Dimitrovgrad Municipality, Mr. Ivo Dimov, participates in the Summit of the Network of Balkan Cities Β40, which is taking place in Athens from January 22 to January 24, 2023.
Ivo Dimov will present Dimitrovgrad Municipality as an example of the best practice for regional and cross-border cooperation, with its two projects implemented under the cross-border cooperation programs with Greece and Turkey. Mayors and institutions from all Balkan countries are participating in the event, including Dario Nardella , President of Eurocities and Mayor of Florence, Andre Sobjak , Secretary General of Eurocities, Cordeiro Vasco Alves from the European Committee for Regional Development, the mayors of Athens, Istanbul, Sofia, Tirana, Skopie, Saraevo, Constanta, Kotor and others.
The forum will be opened by the host, the mayor of Athens Mr. Kostas Bakoyannis. The rotating presidency will present to the participants of the meeting: the annual report on the activities of the B40 Network, the results of the activities of the working groups and the strategic document on city diplomacy and the strategic plan of the B40 Network, presented by the Mayor of Istanbul, Mr. Ekrem Imamoglu . The official handing over of the presidency ceremony will also take place at the summit. Bilateral meetings between mayors and meetings of working groups are planned in the program. On the last day of the forum, the mayors will hear the speech of the rotating chairman, the mayor of Athens, Kostas Bakoyannis about the vision of development of the Network of Balkan Cities B40 for 2023 and will also discuss a strategic document for urban diplomacy and the Strategic Plan of the B40 Network.
