THE LOCAL ART GALLERY WON A PROJECT FOR A CATALOG AND A SHORT VIDEO ON THE OCCASION OF 60 YEARS SINCE ITS ESTABLISHMENT

The Art Gallery in Dimitrovgrad won a project, funded by the National Culture Fund, which will be implemented jointly with ‘Poster and Visual Communications Department’ at the National Academy of Arts. The project is worth BGN 22 120, of which BGN 17 770 financed by the National Culture Fund through the Visual Arts Program, and the remaining BGN 4 350 - own contribution.
The main goal of the project is to publish a jubilee catalog, along with a short video film, presenting the best of its rich fund with comments by the artists and members of the local public. The Gallery preserves works by iconic artists from the 60s of the XX century and a rich collection of theater posters. Here are stored some of the first works of conceptual art, done by Nedko Solakov.
In 2022 it will be 60 years since the establishment of the gallery.
The project is essential for Dimitrovgrad because it is associated with the celebration of the jubilee anniversary of the city gallery, as an important cultural centre. The publication of a bilingual catalog and the creation of a short video film will allow the guests of the city to learn more about the collection and the history of the institution. The implementation of the project will enphasise the role of the gallery as a cultural center in the region, promoting the contemporary values in the field of visual arts, in formation of aesthetic taste, especially the younger generations.
