CHILDREN FROM SCHOOLS AND KINDERGARTENS IN DIMITROVGRAD PLANTED TREES IN THE YARDS OF EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN A CAMPAIGN AGAINST VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN
Children from schools and kindergartens in the municipality of Dimitrovgrad planted trees in the yards of educational institutions in a campaign against violence against children. Together with them, Diana Doncheva, Director of the Directorate "European and National Programs and Projects, Humanitarian Activities" and Antoineta Sharkova from the same Department were also supporting the initiative. With a symbolic act of planting the trees, the children sent their message against violence. One of the events was in the school yard of Pencho Slavekov Primary School and 8th March Kindergarten. The initiative was joined by the children from Radost Kindergarten, as well as from the Lyuben Karavelov and Aleko Konstantinov schools.
With the initiative, the Municipality of Dimitrovgrad actively participates in the National Campaign for the Prevention of Violence and Child Abuse of the State Child Protection Agency. The national campaign is being held under the motto "Be Brave, Be Good". It aims to guarantee the right to protection from violence for all children and especially for children at high risk of vulnerability, as well as to mobilize the community and bring about a change in public attitudes. Outdoor sports activities with the participation of educational institutions and sports clubs took place under the motto of the campaign in September in several Dimitrovgrad schools.
The municipality joins the national children's essay and photography/collage competition, on the anti-violence theme "The world is a better place without violence", as the Local Commission for Combating Antisocial Behavior of Minors and Minors and "Children and Youth Center" organize and a municipal stage of the competition, where prizes will be provided. Essays, photographs and collages can be sent for the national stage via email - [email protected] or by Bulgarian post. The awarding of the municipal stage will be announced additionally.
