"CRAFTS ALLEY" RETURNS THE SPIRIT OF BULGARIAN TRADITIONS TO DIMITROVGRAD
From August 30 to September 2, the area next to the municipal administration will be transformed into a colorful "Crafts Alley" on the occasion of the city's holiday. A total of 25 craftsmen will present their master work in 16 tents and corners, turning the exhibition-bazaar into a meeting place for authentic Bulgarian traditions, crafts, and skills passed down through generations. Craftsmen from the region and around the country will present their products and demonstrations. This year, representatives from Serbian Dimitrovgrad will also take part in a special event.
The highlight of this year's "Crafts Alley" is the presentation and demonstration of authentic traditional Bulgarian crafts. The idea is not just for visitors to view the finished products, but to experience the process of their creation. Special attention is paid to children and young people, who will have the opportunity to make a product with their own hands.
Visitors will be able to observe the craftsmen’s corners for wool, woodcarving, dolls with authentic Bulgarian costumes from different folklore regions of the country, jewelry, knitted shoes, decorated with Bulgarian embroidery, bags from homespun fabrics, sewn on a 100-year-old sewing machine, a demonstration of making homemade yogurt, cheese, and butter - traditional flavors that bring back memories. These products have been prepared in many Bulgarian homes for years.
"Crafts Alley" will not just be an exhibition-bazaar, but a living space in which the past comes to life before the eyes of visitors.
