MERICHLERI CELEBRATES 40 YEARS OF ITS PROCLAMATION AS A CITY
The Mayor of the Municipality of Dimitrovgrad, Mr Ivo Dimov, and the Chairperson of the Municipal Council, Mrs Gergana Krasteva, were guests of the festive celebrations in Merichleri, with which the city celebrates 40 years since its declaration as a city and 115 years of Independent Bulgaria.
Dimov congratulated the residents and guests of Merichleri on the occasion of the holiday. He recalled what was achieved over the years and emphasized that the development of the city was the result of the joint work with the mayor of Merichleri - project for a modern STEM center, the renovation of the main streets, and the project Construction and Development of Solentsi Sports and Entertainment Complex.
The Chairperson of the Municipal Council, Mrs Gergana Krasteva, congratulated the residents of Merichleri on the holiday and thanked the mayor Mr Yordan Milev for his efforts for the town.
The program began with performances by Brass Band Dimitrovgrad, laying of wreaths and flowers in front of the memorial monument on the occasion of 115 years of Independent Bulgaria, and musical-poetry program with the participation of children and community centres.
The program includes also a celebration for the little ones - Fun Children's Morning and a folklore program with the participation of local folk groups and the city orchestra of Stara Zagora.
The three-day program began on September 21 (Thursday) with the presentation of the book "MARBAS" by Acad. Vasil Sgurev and Eng. Penko Ganev.
