BGN 2 million less in the municipal…

The revenue part in the budget of Dimitrovgrad Municipality is BGN 2,000,980 less as a result of the state of emergency compared to the same period last year. The financial condition of the municipality as a result of the crisis was the main topic of today's press conference, at which the Mayor Mr. Ivo Dimov and the Chief Budget Expert Mrs. Galya Delcheva gave detailed information about the implementation of the municipal budget revenues and expenditures. One of the main sources of revenue in the budget is the revenues from the use of markets, sidewalks, streets, local taxes and fees, etc. BGN 700 000 are the losses from the market for the period in which it did not work. For the period from March to May, the Municipality reports a 43% shortfall compared to the reported revenues from local revenues for the same period in 2019.

The expenses incurred by the municipality during the state of emergency related to disinfection activities, clothing and consumables amount to BGN 101,696. In addition, BGN 20,250 are the expenses incurred for providing "Hot lunch” during the state of emergency, with which the Municipality of Dimitrovgrad co-finances the receipt of hot food for another 236 people from its own budget. The mayor argued his decision on the grounds that in this situation people need the support of the municipality.

"We are going to strictly specify the costs, and we will mainly reduce the capital costs. In recent years, people have become accustomed to making streets, sidewalks, parking lots. This year we will not be able to do them. I hope that people will understand us", said the mayor Mr. Dimov. Explaining the situation, it does not allow long-term planning of large events with advance payments to contractors. However, the programme for September the 2nd is being considered.

The mayor reported and collected BGN 23,210 donations to the bank account and thanked the companies and citizens who donated funds and materials during the state of emergency.
